Wonderwall

Wonderwall Inc. has a beautiful new site making great use of Papervision. The page takes tiles of project work by this interior design firm, and stitches them together in a fashion almost like that of a paper scroll or hanging rug. Interacting with the grid stretches and contorts the tiles in sync with the mouse, even overlapping text and other layout elements on the page. Diving into a particular project offers an even more subtle use of this 3D distortion for flipping through images.

It would be nice if the flow of the tiles down the page could be interacted with—perhaps shaking or grabbing the end of the page to swing it from the top. Currently it’s almost like a frozen state that begs to be moving. One gripe is that the scrolling is not as compatible with the scroll wheel as would be nice. Right now it’s very slow to respond.

Overall this is an impressive site that deserves a browse. Check it out.

I don’t think it is using PV3D.

i think it’s fresh and addicting

It serves no purpose and adds a layer of noise that the basic tile layout does not need to communicate and interact with.
