Glyphboard

This new iphone app is a great tool for quick access to glyphs that are otherwise impossible to type with the iPhone keyboard. It takes advantage of the new copy/paste functionality of the latest iPhone 3.0 OS. Once of the more unique features of this app is that it’s actually a webapp. Or is it? To use it, simply visit http://mrgan.com/gb/ with an iphone in Safari. From there just save the page to your home screen following the standard procedure instructions. However launching it doesn’t seem to behave as a web app as its not running in Safari. It behaves identically to any other app. Supposedly updates will even get notifications with a badge on the icon, a feature of the new iPhone 3.0 software.

Wow–very interesting that it’s a web app but doesn’t launch in Safari…would like to know more about this…

This line in the code seems to be important: meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes"

This is great. Since the iPhone/iPod keyboard is missing the ` key, can you please add it to your glyph list?
