I’ve been on the lookout for a better tool for twitter or facebook and think I’ve finally found something promising. And it does both! Yay! Plus this beautiful little Air application allows you to browse and update Flickr, Youtube. Oh and blogger too for those on blogger. While Skimmer sounds like it’s trying to do too much, it really does integrate these services into a simple app quite well.
I can say that I won’t mind having this running on the side, keeping me up to date with my twitter/facebook friends, and I’ll probably keep my profiles more up-to-date as a result. Some of the same arguments could be made about things like TweetDeck, which I know many people love. But I can say that the design, UI, and experience of using Skimmer has been so superior that I’ll probably never go back to TweetDeck. That thing was ugly, cumbersome to use, and of-course only for twitter.
