280slides.com is a recent entry into Keynote competitors that differentiates by being entirely online. It’s also not shy about having copied a ton of visual details from Apple’s wonderful presentation builder.

280 Slides is really a preview of what Keynote could have been or will be in future releases of iWork.com. Designers (myself included) will be very quick to point out that the tools of 280slides is a bit limited. Not much control over advanced typography, master slides, etc., but features like online editing, online accessibility, and ease of sharing over the web make it a top competitor to Keynote and Powerpoint for an audience that is increasingly expecting tools to be online rather than stuck to the desktop.

Hopefully tools like these start to push Apple to accelerate their online plans for some of their software.
