As the clock ticked to 12:00 pm EST, whitehouse.gov got not only a facelift, but every facet of the site now reflects President Barack Obama’s administration and policies. The site pulls a bit from the feel of Obama’s campaign website and brings a sense of transparency to the White House. Let’s hope this becomes a space where our government speaks to us openly and welcomes discussion, positive or negative. As we’ve seen already with Obama’s campaign for the presidency, perhaps the government will finally embrace the internet as a forum for public participation.
